Insights: broad patterns among respondents
This is not a real election. Unofficial. Not an official election. Votes do not count. Results are self-selected and for interest only. ifivoted.com is not affiliated with the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), any government body or any political party. Official historical results are shown for comparison and are attributed to their sources.
Before you look
This page shows broad patterns among respondents who chose to share their population group at the end of the voting journey. Please read this first:
- Self-selected. People chose to visit this site and to answer. They are not a sample of anyone.
- Unweighted. Nothing is adjusted to match South Africa's population, so these figures say nothing about how any population group thinks or votes.
- Humans only, bots excluded. We count only human-verified votes, from devices with at least 5 human-verified journey steps whose owners ticked the consent box. Answers that fail the human check are never stored.
- Thresholds. A group needs at least 100 such respondents, and each figure at least 30, or it shows as "Not enough responses yet". Where only one figure would be hidden, a second is hidden too. Percentages are rounded to the nearest 5%, and no raw counts under 100 are shown.
- History. South Africa's elections were shaped by race classification. In 1992 only white South Africans could vote. These are re-votes cast today by visitors, not how anyone actually voted.
Population group is special personal information under POPIA. It is stored only with explicit consent, used only for these aggregate statistics, and never sold. See the privacy notice.
Among respondents who chose to share their population group, here is how they answered each step. These are patterns among respondents only, never statements about any population group.
